Our Story

Judith Bowen is the visionary founder of Surviving Traumas of the Past (S.T.O.P) Foundation, a Jamaica-based organization dedicated to healing, empowerment, and restoration for individuals affected by emotional, physical, and generational trauma. Raised in March Pen Road, Spanish Town, in the parish of St Catherine, Jamaica. Rooted in her own journey of overcoming adversity of childhood trauma, Judith has transformed her lived experience into a powerful mission: to ensure that no one has to face the weight of their past alone.

Our Mission

With a compassionate voice and a commitment to help others avoid the same pitfalls she’s overcome, Judith now leads S.T.O.P in advocating for trauma-informed support for individuals, spearheading educational resource aid initiatives, leveraging assistance to struggling individuals and families at risk due to poverty and lack of access. In providing a path to safe spaces for Jamaicans seeking healing and hope, her work emphasizes resilience, self-worth, and the belief that every person, regardless of their past, deserves the opportunity to rebuild their life with dignity and confidence. Judith endeavors to inspire individuals and communities through storytelling, outreach, and leadership, helping others reclaim their strength and move forward with purpose. Through the S.T.O.P Foundation, she is creating a legacy of healing for one life, one conversation, and one breakthrough at a time. Isaiah 61:1 "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound".
